Grain pillows can help with pain

They are great for storing heat or cold and slowly releasing it back into the body: Pillows filled with round cherry stones or fine rapeseed, wheat and spelt grains. Grain pillows are a real boon for headaches or stomach pains, but also help against back and neck pain and much more!

What you should consider when buying

The quilting is important for grain pillows and their use. In other words, it must be divided into individual chambers so that the grains cannot slip out of place. Filling: A spelt pillow is well suited as a pillow for side sleepers. A cherry stone pillow helps with headaches, stomach and back pain, migraines, bruises and tension. Rape seeds are small and soft, making them an even softer filling material than grains.

Finding the right pillow

If you want to warm the bed, a large pillow (60 x 20 cm) is recommended - it can release the heat over a large area. If you have neck and shoulder tension, you should use a crescent-shaped pillow. It adapts to the body and can conduct the heat very well to the affected area. All versions are available in health food stores, for example, from around 10 euros.

Grain pillow: Use hot or cold

It is best to place it in the oven (fan oven) at 100 degrees for about a quarter of an hour. The only quicker way is in the microwave. At 600 degrees, the cushion only needs about 90 seconds to warm up. To use it as a cooling pillow, simply place it in a plastic bag in the freezer compartment for two to three hours.

The filling needs to be changed

Every two years, you should open the pillow at one point and refill it, as the grains lose their storage capacity.
