A real feel-good therapy: sauna in winter
If you go to the sauna regularly, you strengthen your body - the change between extreme temperature stimuli boosts our immune system. A more than welcome effect, especially in the cold season! During a sauna session, our pulse and heart rate increase - more blood flows through the veins and the blood vessels dilate. The increased blood flow relaxes the muscles and also improves the appearance of the skin - blood flow to the nasal mucous membranes is also improved. Because this strengthens the natural protective functions of the mucous membranes, infections have less of a chance.
Relax in hot water
Coming home on a frosty winter's day and taking a hot bath - relaxation could hardly be more pleasant! With a full bath, we can also do something good for our skin - provided we don't stay in the bath too long. Bathing for too long and too often is rather harmful: relax for a maximum of 20 minutes and the water should not be warmer than 38 degrees - too much heat is only harmful. Our skin is very dry, especially in winter. Moisturizing oil and cream baths are good for you now! A classic milk bath also provides the skin with plenty of moisture. The lactic acid it contains also helps to maintain the skin's natural protective layer. Simply heat one to two liters of fresh whole milk and add to the bath water: The bath is even more soothing if you add a little honey. Be sure to moisturize your skin well afterwards!
Invigorating and relaxing: massages
Massages can also provide a real sense of well-being - especially if they are carried out with heated oils. They also improve blood circulation and can therefore prevent colds and other infections. Warm massage oil can penetrate deep into the connective tissue through the skin, where it unfolds its healing effect and warms from the inside out - the body relaxes and experiences a comprehensive revitalization. Especially in winter, oil massages have a soothing effect and are a luxury that you should simply treat yourself to...
