Live more consciously: Be a treasure hunter

Our happiness expert Sandra Boltz reveals that we don't even notice many of the beautiful things around us because we are so busy doing things. Even when we are walking, we sometimes look at our cell phone or ponder our thoughts without even looking to the right or left. As a result, we are not really where we are and overlook all the small and large gifts that life presents us with.

Collect beautiful things

Why not consciously go through the day with your eyes open and collect beautiful things! Focus your gaze on things that you like and that bring you joy. For example, a ray of sunshine that draws patterns of light on the path or a bud that is about to blossom. Take a moment to enjoy the sight and the good feeling that this little treasure creates in you. The more beauty you look for, the more you will find. Guaranteed.

Train your attention, improve your ability to concentrate

The great thing about it is that you also train your mindfulness. Studies show that mindfulness exercises improve your ability to concentrate after just a short time. If people train their mindfulness regularly, structural changes can even be observed in the brain. The anxiety center shrinks and the hippocampus gains substance. This is accompanied by an improvement in memory function and learning. This side effect should not go unused.

So, why not be a treasure hunter today! Consciously look out for beautiful things. How about starting right away? What is beautiful around you right now?
