In the shower, we think about the coffee we're about to make and when we actually drink it, we're already thinking about the next thing to do... Our thoughts race along, bouncing incessantly from one topic to the next. Our thoughts are everywhere but in the here and now. Do you know this?
This stream of thoughts and the agonizing "I should actually be doing..." create constant pressure, tire us out in the long run and make us dissatisfied. What if you were to channel the energy you invest in brooding every day in a different direction? Allow yourself to consciously experience everything and open your eyes to the beauty of the little things. Today, consciously do just one thing at a time and nothing else on the side.
Mindfulness in everyday life enables you to step out of brooding thoughts and perceive the actual moment. Practicing this helps us to deal with life more calmly in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We feel more relaxed, our stress levels and blood pressure drop and we have more energy. We are more present and take more care of ourselves. And only then are we able to enjoy ourselves. A coffee, a quick look out of the window or the warmth of the sun's rays on our skin. Our mood is instantly brightened and we can look at things from a more positive perspective.
Enjoy the little moments of happiness in everyday life before they pass by. Your life is happening now. Eat the ice cream before it melts.
