Mindfulness challenge inventor Sandra Boltz knows all about doubting, being overwhelmed and the feeling of seeing no light at the end of the tunnel. She has found out how to get out of such situations. How anyone can change their life - by changing the way they look at it. Because happiness at the touch of a button doesn't work. But everyone can become more open to happiness, can recognize the good in their own everyday life and what is good for them. After the first day was about smiling and the second about the things that make you grateful, the third day is about saying "stop".
Day 3 of the Mindfulness Challenge: Say "Stop!"
Say "stop" when you start to ruminate or negative thoughts want to take over the moment.
The third day is about consciously stopping unnecessary negative thoughts. It often starts with a little brooding, which acts like an accelerant for negative thoughts. And then we are stuck in a carousel of worries, doubts and fears. These negative, aimless thought loops are absolute mood killers. They give us unpleasant feelings and physical reactions such as restlessness and concentration problems.
"Stop"
Don't let it get that far in the first place, because you have sole power over your thoughts. Decide for yourself what you think! You are the boss. Whenever you notice today that you are worried, your inner critic is letting off steam again or doubts arise in you, say to yourself in your mind or out loud: "Stop!" Push the negative thought firmly aside. Get rid of it!
Remind yourself of the positive
Take a deep breath and focus your attention on something positive. Think of something pleasant or something you are grateful for. Now you can, for example, apply the practiced "Power of 5" ("I am grateful that ...") from day 2.
