Fruit is healthy - but you shouldn't eat it in the evening!

Every child knows that fruit and vegetables are healthy. However, the time of day is decisive as to whether we do something good for our body or put a strain on it.

3 reasons why you shouldn't eat fruit in the evening

1. if you eat fruit late, you sleep worse

Did you eat a few grapes before going to bed? That wasn't a good idea, because some fruits, like grapes, contain a lot of sugar - and sugar gives us energy. So if you want to get some rest, you shouldn't fill up your body with fuel beforehand. The bottom line: we have trouble falling asleep because we are physically fit again!

Watch out for fructose: how much fruit is healthy?

Fruit in the evening makes you fat

Eating fruit in the evening not only makes it difficult to fall asleep due to the energy it provides in the form of fructose. We are also no longer able to break it down physically, which means that the energy is converted into fat and ends up on our hips. If you still want to snack in the evening, you should therefore opt for vegetables such as peppers or cucumbers.

Late fruit can lead to digestive problems

If you have a sensitive stomach, you should generally avoid fruit and vegetables in the evening. Both can be heavy on the stomach and lead to flatulence, bloating and even abdominal pain. If you don't have any problems with this, you should still avoid fruit in the evening for the reasons mentioned above and prefer to nibble on fresh greens.
