Take the stairs
Simple but effective: we should always take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator, as this increases our performance. Climbing stairs also has the positive side effect of exercising the thigh, calf and buttock muscles.
Doing garden or housework
Cleaning burns calories. So you shouldn't underestimate housework, because this is also exercise. If we walk around the house once with the vacuum cleaner, we burn about 220 kcal. Cleaning the windows for an hour burns around 240 kcal. Working in the garden also burns calories, as weeding, digging and the like are a good workout for the whole body.
Do as much as possible on foot
Whenever possible, we should walk. Whether it's to the bakery or the supermarket, the main thing is to leave the car at home. This not only protects the environment, but also keeps you fit. Even short distances, such as the daily journey to the subway, add up in the end. We can get into the habit of walking around the block during our lunch break. This keeps us moving and also gives us fresh air and clears our heads. Ideally, we should take our favorite colleague with us so we can chat in peace.Tip: Get off the subway or bus one or two stops earlier and walk the rest of the way. Consciously enjoy the fresh air and exercise.
Integrate small exercises into your everyday life
We can start moving while brushing our teeth in the morning, for example by doing squats on the side. Instead of sitting while talking on the phone, simply walk back and forth and do a few stretching exercises. Have a regular yoga session in front of the TV or do strength or stretching exercises. If you have an exercise bike, place it in front of the TV and burn a few calories along the way.
