We take many things for granted because we have simply become accustomed to them. On the other hand, we immediately register negative things that happen and keep them in our heads for a long time, which then has a negative effect on our mood. Studies have shown that gratitude increases well-being. More positive feelings are experienced, because a good mood and gratitude go hand in hand. Just try it out today, practice gratitude!
What are you grateful for?
Why don't you count off five things on your fingers right now that you are grateful for? What is going well in your day? What are you grateful for? It could be your health, a laugh, your favorite song on the radio, the sun shining, a phone call from a friend or a delicious ice cream. If you can't think of five things at the beginning, there's no need to worry. It takes some training to consciously focus your own perception on the good things. In English, the phrase "count your blessings" is used to consciously list the things you are grateful for. Simply take a moment to consciously notice and appreciate all the good things that surround us.
Find the feeling of gratitude in everyday life
In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we simply forget to pause regularly to celebrate all that is worth being grateful for in life. And those who are grateful can enjoy positive experiences more. It is therefore a real happiness boost to find and use opportunities to feel gratitude in everyday life.
So why not practise being grateful several times today? Be grateful and do something good for yourself.
