Belly sculpting is the new trend workout par excellence!

Belly sculpting: what is it?

The workout trend comes from France and is currently very popular on social media. Belly sculpting is not only effective, it's also really fun. An important factor when it comes to motivating yourself to exercise!

Belly sculpting is a so-called "hybrid workout", i.e. a mixture of different types of sport. It contains elements from abdominal muscle training, yoga, special abdominal breathing exercises and Pilates

Belly sculpting: how the workout works

Belly sculpting consists of three elements: Abdominal muscle training, Pilates and hypopressive abdominal breathing.

The belly sculpting session not only trains the abdomen itself, but the entire core. The result: firmer skin and a slimmer waist! The workout starts with 10 to 15 minutes of abdominal muscle training. You can find suitable exercises here. Then it continues with Pilates. Finally, the so-called hypopressive abdominal breathing should ensure a flat stomach. This is how the breathing technique works, which originally comes from yoga.

Learning hypopressive breathing

The aim of the breathing technique is to strengthen the internal abdominal muscles and the pelvic floor. The aim is to create a kind of vacuum in the abdomen, which trains the abdominal muscles. However, do not overdo it with hypopressive abdominal breathing to avoid harming your body. This is how the technique works:

  1. Lie flat on your back and pull your knees towards your body.
  2. Exhale deeply once.
  3. Close your mouth and keep your nose closed.
  4. Relax your stomach and pull it in as deeply as you can. Do not inhale! This creates a vacuum in your stomach.
  5. Hold your breath for about 10 seconds.
  6. Now relax and breathe in and out three times in a relaxed manner.
