It's not exactly easy to stay calm in hectic everyday life and approach new tasks with full power. We often get in our own way because we can't stop doing certain things that consume an unnecessary amount of energy. We can learn to stop these "energy robbers" - and go through life with much more energy as a result.
No more putting things off
Putting off unpleasant things for the time being is of course convenient, but makes you unhappy in the long run. Therefore, create a concrete schedule for tasks and set realistic goals.
Just don't compare
Everyone else is better? Nonsense. It costs us a lot of energy because we are constantly putting ourselves down. Rejoice in your strengths and be proud of yourself and your life.
Put an end to multitasking
On the phone, eating and tidying up at the same time? This rarely saves time, but instead puts us under unnecessary pressure. Much better: work through everything quickly and consistently one after the other.
Avoid clutter
Tidy up your desk. Create a fixed place for all the important things you need frequently. This way you will never get into a hectic search panic again and stay more relaxed.
Breaking routines
Although they give us security, they can also be energy-sapping because they also restrict us. Break out of your hamster wheel more often: Try a new restaurant, try a different haircut . .. It's like a fresh kick.
Stop brooding
It rarely solves problems and quickly affects your mood. If your thoughts are often stuck in the past: Ask yourself whether this is of any benefit to the present. No? Then take a walk or listen to some calm music to focus on the here and now.
Accumulate fewer things
The more things you hoard, the more cramped you feel. Sort out what blocks your view of the essentials, what you don't really need and what doesn't make you happy. Getting rid of clutter means freeing your soul.
Say yes less often
Always being there for the family, saying yes to appointments that you don't really want to go to - in the long run, this is exhausting. Practice taking your own needs just as seriously as those of others.
Pay attention to your posture
Our body also influences whether we feel strong and self-confident - or small and weak. Stand up straight, keep your back straight and consciously breathe in and out deeply several times. It's a good feeling, isn't it?
Don't overestimate everything
But is everything going wrong today? Take a step back and take another look at the seemingly numerous mishaps from a bird's eye view. Is it really that dramatic?
Put the brakes on a bad mood
Don't give in to exhaustion. Make a list of activities that will give you new strength in no time at all. This will get you out of the "victim role" and you can quickly influence your mood positively yourself.
