1. crash diets
Once again, summer is coming sooner than expected. Don't go on any crash diets now. Because an unbalanced diet, e.g. cabbage soup diets, not only means a lack of important vitamins. As soon as you switch your diet back to "normal", the kilos you've worked so hard to lose will soon be back on again.
2. many small meals
A little something here, a snack there in between... Many small meals give us the feeling that we are eating less. But it's easy to lose track of what and, above all, how much you've actually eaten. Three meals with balanced foods such as fresh fruit and vegetables, lean meat or fish are better. A nutrition plan helps you to keep track of how much you eat and how balanced your diet is. A healthy mix of fiber, protein and important minerals and vitamins is ideal.
3. light products
Be careful with light products. Many low-fat foods contain an extra portion of sugar. "Sugar-free" products usually contain other sweeteners that the body is less able to process. So if you want to lose weight properly, you should give the supposed "light" and "zero" products a wide berth and opt for fruit and herbal teas and water (e.g. with fruit) instead.
4. eating too little
Starving yourself to lose a few pounds quickly sounds tempting, but it's not healthy at all. Cravings can be the result and going without important nutrients can cause deficiency symptoms. After the diet, the body gets back what it needs and you put on weight again.
5. stress
Take the time to prepare healthy meals and do some exercise. Healthy eating and exercise should be the top priority if you want to lose weight in the long term. Caution: As tempting as it may be, don't "reward" yourself with fast food and sweets after exercise!
6. lose weight without exercise
Of course, real couch potatoes can also lose weight without a great fitness program. However, the goal can be achieved faster - and of course healthier - with sufficient exercise. Small things are enough here. For example, always take the stairs instead of the elevator. Try to cycle to work or the shops more often and take a short walk during your lunch break. Housework such as cleaning or painting also gets your heart rate up and stimulates fat burning.
7. too little sleep
Sufficient sleep is important to lose weight properly. This is because our body regenerates during the rest phase, burns fat and provides us with enough energy for the next day. It has also been scientifically proven that a lack of sleep leads to food cravings.
